We’re proud to be a Bee friendly practice and in doing so, with the help of our wonderful gardener, ensure our gardens are full of meadow flowers, encouraging bees and other insects to feed and pollinate as much as possible.
When looking for bee-friendly flea and tick treatments for your pets, it’s important to choose products that are both effective on pests and safe for pollinators like bees. Many conventional flea/tick treatments contain neonicotinoids, permethrin, or fipronil, which are highly toxic to bees—even in small doses. Although alternative products may be more expensive, they are just as effective, and in many cases even more effective and now-a-days there are even oral medications that are simple to give and don’t contaminate the environment (although we obviously recommend you pick up your dog’s poo and dispose of it correctly!).
Regular grooming and flea combs can reduce flea loads also!
