Patient Preparation Area

This area which is officially designated “clean” is where patients have anaesthesia induced and then have their fur clipped to provide an area of skin that can be prepared in an aseptic manner to give a sterile field for surgery.

From here a patient will be moved into one of our two sterile operating theatres or our x-ray/diagnostic room.

The ‘prep’ area (as it is called) is also used for ultrasound examinations as in the picture above as well as some minor surgical procedures.
