The Gas Store
For safety reasons all anaesthetic gas cylinders have to be kept in a room that is separate from the rest of the building. From here gasses such as oxygen and nitrous oxide are sent around the building in low pressure pipes to each of our seven anaesthetic points. Oxygen comes out of the white port and nitrous oxide out of the blue coloured one. The connectors are different sizes so there is no possibility that they could be mixed up. The third port in the picture is our vacuum line which connects to the exhaust port of the anaesthetic circuit and vents waste gasses safely to protect the operators from unnecessary exposure.
