Taking your pet abroad
Travelling abroad with your pet can be a difficult experience to say the least. It’s good to know Orchard Veterinary Group are on hand to guide you through the entire process, allowing you to concentrate on sun, sea, sand, surf etc...

By far the most common area of confusion is the difference between an export certificate and a "pet passport". Many people believe that they are one in the same but they are not although things have been made much easier by recent changes in pet passport regulations.
A pet passport will allow your cat, dog or ferret to travel between certain qualifying
countries without quarantine at any time you like. Please bear in mind that a passport
for re-entry into UK can take up to 7 & a half months to obtain, so you need to plan
well ahead.
An export certificate on the other hand is a document you will require to travel to a country outside the qualifying countries and is limited to one journey at a specific time only. Follow the links for more detailed information.
A pet passport...
